The second novel in Ronnie Douglas’ sexy Southern Wolves motorcycle club series—reminiscent of Kristen Ashley and Jay Crownover—tells the story of an aspiring fashion designer and a biker who discover a desire that knows no limits.

When the daughter of one of the Southern Wolves gets a flat in the middle of a thunderstorm, there’s only one thing to do—strip down to her underwear and get a little muddy. But when Alamo, the sexy biker shows up to rescue Ellen yet again, things are bound to get a whole lot dirtier.

Between the trouble he left behind and club rules, Alamo knows he needs to stay clear of Ellen. He’s not looking for a woman or complications—even when that woman is everything a man could want. Unfortunately, Ellen isn’t playing by anyone’s rules but her own these days, and a Southern woman who’s been raised by Wolves is awfully hard to deny.

So when they give in to their raging attraction, both get much more than they bargained for.

My Review:

Do you love MC’s? Looking for a good book/series to start and can’t figure out where? Then I recommend you pick up the Knights of Black Leather series!

Although this is the second book in the series, the first half actually reads parallel to the first one, Undaunted, so it can be read as a standalone. I do however, recommend reading the Undaunted first just so you have a feel of the secondary characters present in both.

Honestly after finishing Undaunted last September, I was sure the second book would have been Noah’s. I enjoyed his character then, but honestly? It’s going to take some serious convincing and good redemption story to bring any positive emotions back! I couldn’t stand him in this book. Anyway, I am taking light away from Ellen and Alamo so MOVING ON!

I adored Ellen, aka Ellie! She is sassy, strong, smart mouthed and her want and need to be loved touched my heart. Although she is close to many in the club, she yearns to be wanted and loved by one. She doesn’t need a relationship, but wants one. Her on and off relationship with Noah was pretty toxic and did a number on her. I was applauding her decision to walk away. It took her some time, but better late than never! I also really liked Alamo’s character. He is tough, charming and adorable. His loyalty and protectiveness were almost a hindrance due to the situation, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way! He has the best qualities you would want in a relationship – and with someone apart of a MC.

These two together are just steamy! It was hot without even trying to be. The anticipation to these getting together in conjunction with their lack of communication just about killed me. It wasn’t entirely their fault – I mean, what Noah did was wrong but in a sense, standard for those in a MC. I just wish they would have talked BEFORE they did and clear the air.

I also loved seeing the characters from the first book! Zion, Aubrey, Echo and Maureen. Plus we got to see more of Miss Bitty (Ellen’s mom) and meet some new characters as well. The ending was exciting, thrilling and you see a little bit of the darker side of the MC.

All in all – I really enjoyed Unruly! I loved the detail into the MC, Ellen’s past and the building romance between Alamo and Ellen. I have that feeling, again, that the next book will be Noah’s, based on how things ended. This makes me nervous – and excited! *internally prepares*

Share your thoughts – have you read Undaunted or Unruly? Do you have recommendations for other MC books out there?
