I can’t believe we are halfway done with 2015. WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?!

I wanted to do a special post and showcase my favorite books read so far this year. I have read about… 95 ish books so far this year – about 1/3 New Adult or Adult. It was SO hard to narrow it down!

I vow. I crave. I give in.

I used to be a nice, normal girl. I had dreams. Good, happy dreams of a white picket fence, 2.5 kids, and a fairytale love that lasts forever. Nobody ever warned me that sometimes, the prince dies three weeks before the wedding.

Like any addict, I swear this time is the last….

Now, I go through my days, a shadow of my former self. I pretend I’m okay, and the people in my life pretend to believe me. But, sometimes, when I can no longer stand the craving, I roam an underground sex club looking for my next hit. It’s dirty and wrong, but I can’t stop, and my only line of defense between them and me, is the rules I’ve designed to keep me safe. The men always abide by my rules. Until I meet him.

And, like any addict, I’m wrong.

I don’t question the instincts that tell me to run. One look at him, standing there, power radiating off him in waves, tells me all I need to know. He will make me crave those happy dreams I’ve left behind. And that is not an option..

Crave took me by surprise! it was intense, hot and emotional too. I recommend this one if you are looking for in-depth characters, hot sexual chemistry and/or looking for a book on the lighter side of BDSM.

Accused of a horrible crime and on the run, Kat has been rejected by everyone she loves. She’s a fugitive from her past, flitting from town to town with nothing but the clothes on her back. Until she meets a man who literally stops her in her tracks.

This notorious bounty hunter, with his stunning good looks and powerful instincts, never fails to capture his prey. But there’s something about his newest mark that gets under his skin–and it’s not just the naked innocence he sees in her eyes. Behind his ice cold demeanor, he has his own secrets… and now his lively, vulnerable captive is about to crack him wide open.

As they drive across the country together, neither of them can deny the spark of attraction between them. Will their journey force these two passionate opposites together…or will their dangerous secrets be too much to bear?

I have been a fan of Season Vining after reading her first book, Beautiful Addictions. Her writing sucks you in, and she writes some of the most in-depth plots, characters and romances. Held Against You is one of my favorites this year and of all time!

Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player—without getting played?

This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.

Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

Let’s take a second and forget the title of the book (I mean, c’mon) This is was SO good.”Bad Boys” are not my THING, so I was hesitant to read this one but I am so happy I did! The romance was the slow, feel good burn and their chemistry was hot and intense. Just, read it. Mm’kay?

Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.

The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…

I have 2-1 when it comes to Hoover books – and I am happy to say that this one if my FAVORITE so far. Her writing is amazing – and I loved how these characters’ lives were so intertwined. The ending too – was just PURE PERFECTION.

I’ve been meaning to read Colleen Hoover for the longest time. I just haven’t got around to her books yet, but I’ll definitely check out Confess. It sounds like it might be a great beach read this summer.

My favorite book so far that I’ve read this year will have to be… hmmm, that’s a tough one because I’ve read so many, but I’d probably have to say Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch. I know this book came out last fall, but I wasn’t able to get my clutches on it until this year, and oh man I can’t wait until Ice Like Fire. The world and plot and characters are just so good. Definitely my favorite fantasy I’ve read this year. Another book I’ve read this year that’s worth mentioning is All the Truth That’s In Me by Julie Berry. I just have a lot of feelings over that book. Great literary and thriller fiction.

  4. Misti

I’ve read Manwhore and Confess and loved both of them. And on that note, is it July 7 yet because I NEED THE SEQUEL to Manwhore right now. I’ve read a lot of amazing books this year, but one of the most recent was Dahlia Adler’s Last Will and Testament. Loved that one hard.
