Logan McPherson and Elle Sterling continue to thrill in this powerful conclusion to their tantalizing, provocative, and unexpected sizzling romance that began in Blow.
The danger isn’t over.
It’s only just begun.
Circumstances brought them together and their undeniable connection won’t let them part. But when the past and the present collide, emotions run high—things are said, lines are crossed, and rules are broken. Both focused on crushing the enemy, the retribution is almost too much to bear. Still, there’s no undoing what has already been done, and every action has a consequence.
He loves her and she loves him, but love isn’t a shield.
Sometimes your only choice is the one you’d rather not make. Pushed to the limit, the tainted love of Logan and Elle is in jeopardy. With outside forces driving a wedge between them, they have to dig deep within their souls to release the ghosts of their pasts, and fight even harder for what neither knew they needed—each other.
Can love really conquer all?
First thought after finishing
I’m not crying, I just have something in my EYE
Kim Karr as quickly become a go to author. She writes some of the twistiest, sexiest books and the ANGST.
After the cliffhanger ending in Blow, I would have done about anything to get my hands on Crush. I had to wait, however, because I was out of “borrows” from the library and I wanted the audio because both Joe and Maxine are fabulous.
Crush started right where Blow left off, and I was extremely happy for this. Elle and Logan are at a stalemate on what to do around the things happening around them. Things slowly start to unfold and I was again, in amazement at just how much I thought I knew was wrong.
Elle and Logan are probably one of my favorite couples in fiction. What really gets to me, is their constant need to protect one another, even though the things they are doing are wrong. Yes, there were times when things Logan did or Elle assumed, had me frustrated beyond belief, but it’s just in their nature to do those things. Both are stubborn to the core. Trust is also an issue for both, and it was killing me how much of their insecurities were putting a wedge between them.
As I mentioned before, the twists in this duet are insane. I felt like Crush took things to a new level; adding in several layers to get down to what happened. Honestly, one aspect I was surprised about View Spoiler » how much of it didn’t revolve around Tommy, and what happened to him early on. There are larger players, which I figured, but I didn’t see his lack of involvement into both the drugs, and with Logan. « Hide Spoiler However, I did feel the resolution was mighty quick, considering we are building up to everything over the course of two full length books.
Also, the connection between Jeremy (from Toxic) and Logan were a nice surprise! It was fun seeing those two characters from another book I loved of Kim’s in there. It’s minimal, but now I’m hopeful we get more books within the circle of friends.
My only compliant is how repetitive things get. It’s a personal preference, but I am one that doesn’t need to be reminded about appearances, or what that person does to you, ya know? After the 3rd time, I GET IT.
Now, the ending. My heart was exploding. I not one for super sappy endings, and I’m not saying that’s how things wrap up, but by golly. It couldn’t have ended better.
All in all – I loved it. The Tainted Love duet has many elements within its pages that are right up my alley. Drama, angst, organized crime, romance, and characters that are likable and worse rooting for. If you love ANY of these, or don’t but want to try, I highly recommend it!
