2 fatal sides.
1 epic love.
7 days to survive.
They met in the face of danger. They weren’t looking for love. They both knew better. But they couldn’t stay away, and they fell hard.
He is heart-stopping handsome, fearless—and haunted by deadly ties.
She is breathtakingly beautiful, determined—and in harm’s way.
They should have parted. They didn't. And now time is running out. One hundred sixty eight hours. That’s all that remains. While Logan McPherson fights to save them, Elle Sterling is forced to make a choice that could change everything.
When torn between right and wrong, tainted love doesn’t have a chance...or does it?
First thought after finishing:
*screams* ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? *screams some more*
There comes a time when you read a certain author – and you just know that you will love everything they write. You fall in love. Their stories, their characters and just their ability to write such amazing, jaw dropping books consume you.
For me, Kim Karr is that author. I fell in love with her writing in Toxic. Although I have heard many great things about her Connections series, I have yet to read those – which I will remedy soon.
When I saw the blurb for Blow, I was instantly drawn to it. It just has this vibe. Danger. Love. Thrills. Angst. Add in the fact that I know she writes a fantastic romance, high on the sexy times, and I was all over it.
Blow… blew me away. It’s full of secrets, lies, and danger that just gets better and better with each chapter. When you think you have something figured out, you’re wrong. When you think you finally understand why Logan or Elle do the things they do, you’re wrong. And that ENDING. *dies*
Truthfully, my heart ached for both of these characters. It was hard listening (reading) about Elle’s childhood. Her parents, her sister and finally what she went through to save one and the life altering things that happened to Elle in the process. Elle is strong, loving and someone you want on your side when things get tough. She has such a big heart, and while I didn’t understand WHY she did some of the things she did, she did it out of love. You can’t help but respect that.
Logan had a way different childhood, but damaging all the same. The reader doesn’t get his “full” story until much later, and it my heart just broke for all the guilt he carries. Like Elle, his choices are driven by events in the past – and again, your are challenged with the “right vs wrong” is what they are doing to save, and protect, the ones they love.
I for one, love it when an author is able to do that.
Logan and Elle are drawn to each other. Their chemistry is smoking hot and I loved how they challenged each other. Both have secrets, some of which are deadly, and the fear that they would harm one another is justified. They are thrown into the middle of a bad situation and the whole time you are trying to figure out who is playing who, if at all. And just when you think you know how far one of them will go – you’re thrown for another loop.
This was the first audio I listened to with both Joe & Maxine as the narrators. I loved their performance. (Random, but I saw they narrate a lot together!)
All in all – I loved Blow. I am in love with Kim Karr’s writing, her characters and just, everything. I highly recommend this one, especially if you love high stakes, secrets, lies and plot twists for days!
