Twentysomething Kat Reid is loving life as an in-demand Hollywood makeup artist. She has absolutely no interest in rock ’n’ roll, but in order to pay the mortgage, she agrees to work on the set of a rock video for the world-famous rockers known as Bad Habit…which brings her face-to-face with Nico Nyx, lead singer of Bad Habit and Adonis in the flesh.

However, the fiercely independent Kat isn’t impressed by the hard-living, womanizing rock star. But when Nico’s model girlfriend shows up to the set drunk and Kat is tapped to replace her as the video’s sexy bride, her combustible chemistry with Nico suddenly threatens to consume the set. Nico feels it, too—and becomes determined to win Kat over, body and soul. Yet behind his rock god swagger, Nico hides a dark secret. Can he rock Kat’s world forever, or will he just break her heart?

I received this book for free from The Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

As a reader, I have grown over the course of my time blogging. Before, it was easy to just read and get lost in a story; setting aside anything that could/would be considered unrealistic. Setting aside those pesky stereotypes and great dislike of certain tropes. I like what I like and I don’t often stray from away from said likes and throw all caution to the wind and go with it. But every once in a while, it happens.

Which is exactly what I did with Sweet as Sin.

That’s not to say it otherwise would have been BAD. Is it flawless? No. Are there aspects of the story that would typically have me raging, or frustrated beyond belief? Yes. But you know what? It was fun. It was chock-full of drama, interesting and hilarious characters and a sexy, sweet as sin rock star. Geissinger has a way about her writing and that sucks you in. And I had not anticipated how dark and how twisted the story would go.

Although Kat and Nico had that insta-love thing going on, it worked. It was almost like these two had been together and we were getting a continuation of their story. (If that makes any sense.) Nico was a little more possessive than I like to see, but he had that whole alpha male thing going on. Kat, with her quick wit and no-nonsense attitude – doesn’t really “put up with it,” more like grabs the man by the balls and accepts Nico for who is he. She is far from flawless too – quick to judge and storm off without really listening and understand the situation.

Again. These two just work.

I am curious about the animosity between one of the band mates and Kat’s friend, so I am wondering if their story is next?

All in all – I had so much fun with Sweet as Sin. It’s hilarious, dark & twisty, sexy and just fun. It’s addicting and I can’t wait for the next book in the Bad Habit series.
