Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player—without getting played?
This is the story I've been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.
Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.
Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.
But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I'm the one discovering him...or if he's uncovering me.
What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?
I received this book for free from The Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Holy smokes, y’all.
I wont lie – I was hesitant to read/review Manwhore. Why? Because Bad Boys are not usually my forte (this screams BAD BOY material) and something I file under NOT GONNA HAPPEN (plus the title was a little off-putting at first). Still, something about it nagged at me for hours so I said yes and dove right in.
This book is nothing like I expected. At all.
Rachel – upcoming journalist on the hunt for the story that will break her career wide open. And suddenly getting it dropped in her lap. The problem? Exposing the hottest, most talked about bachelor in all of Chicago. The other problem? falling for him.
I really liked Rachel. I loved how ambitious she was and determined to MAKE IT and care for her mother. People do drastic things when they are desperate – and I felt it coming off of her in waves. I admire her strength to be independent and do what she needs to for her career. I also adored her friendship with both her best friends. Another thing to note – she genuinely felt remorse for what she did. Not excusing it – but.
Although this rich-super-bad-boy troupe isn’t new – I loved had Katy handled it. We are pretty much kept in the dark a lot of the book with regards to Malcolm – and why he is so aloof. There IS a story there, and by my guess it isn’t one we are thinking. He is a brutally honest guy – going after what he wants because well, he can. It’s not arrogance, its confidence.
Their relationship was quite different; in the sense that it’s a slow burn. Although Rachel was discovering more about who Malcolm REALLY is – she nailed it when she said, “I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.” Because is pretty much what happened. I loved that Malcolm respected her wishes to remain outside of the spotlight, and the things he did for her were just SO sweet.
The anticipation for how things would play out in the end had me anxious behind comprehension. You just KNOW shit it going to blow up – yet you can’t look away. My heart broke for both Malcolm and Rachel. Why? Because, REASONS.
And yes, in case you were wondering. This book is HOT.
Overall – I loved it. Manwhore is such a fun, sexy story. And I am just DYING to read the next one. Highly recommend.
